BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS AND MORE BOOKS

Did someone say books?  I'm all yours.

Fiction, non-fiction, historical fiction, religious, self-help, and sci-fi/fantasy....if it's a good read, I'm ALL in.  Always.

I'm even so nerdy about my books that I have a small book in the drawer in my nightstand that I keep track of all the books I've read since 2000.  Then I can re-read the ones I loved and have forgotten or just give a good reference to someone who might be looking for a good read.

Books help me make sense of the world.  Which isn't very easy sometimes.  I like the little nuggets of wisdom tucked inside the pages.  They help me understand my own thoughts and feelings.  Sometimes, a good author can say something that I'm feeling but somehow couldn't express.  It's wonderfully satisfying.  I feel connected.

Books bring joy into my life.

Here's a list of a few of my favorites:

The Christ Who Heals-Terryl and Fiona Givens

 The Hiding Place-Corrie Ten Boom

Les Mis-(Abridged version) Victor Hugo

One More River to Cross Series

A Long Way From Chicago-Richard Peck

The Endurance- C. Alexander

Infinite Atonement-Tad Callister

Secret Life of Bees-Sue Monk Kidd

Rebecca-Daphne Du Marier

Mere Christianity-CS Lewis

Life of Pi-Yann Martel

And there's at least 100+ more that I could add to that list.  But for the sake of space and time, I won't bore you.

THIS IS JOY.....

These two faces NEVER cease to make me smile and make me feel like all is okay in the world.  Even if it isn't.

Their love is unconditional.

They always greet me with a tail-wag and a snard on my leg.  And I love it.

Toby is ALWAYS up for an adventure.  Adventure Dog is his second name.  He'll always go with me in the car.  Sometimes it's a boring visit to the grocery store, other times it's well-loved trip to the cabin.

Willow is always up for a good snuggle.  Yes, she loves a good romp in the hollow and her therapy visits, but there is just so much gas in her tank.  And when she's done, she's done.  She definitely needs her naps.  And don't bug her after 8 or 9 PM.

These two live in the now. They find and create joy so easily. They don't fret about tomorrow or regret their yesterdays.  They're just ready for what is next.  I love that.  That's joy.

B and I had to go to the grocery story last Saturday.  I know that is nothing new in ANYONE'S world.  In fact, we go waaay too often. ...
